Gas burner won't light

Igniter keeps clicking
Clicking that won't stop, even with the knob off. Moisture after a spill, a worn switch at the knob, or a failing spark module.
Weak, yellow or uneven flame
Blocked ports, a cap sitting crooked, or food and grease packed into the burner head.
Electric coil or radiant element dead
One zone stays cold or only heats on high. Element, receptacle or the infinite switch behind the knob.
Glass or ceramic top cracked

Stove igniter clicking, but no flame
Turn the burner off and let the stove cool. Lift the cap, wipe the white ceramic igniter clean and dry, clear the burner ports with a pin, and set the cap back flat. If it still won’t catch — or the clicking never stops — the igniter, the knob switch or the spark module needs replacing. That’s a standard part on most gas stoves.

Why is my stove burner not working?
On a gas stove, a burner that won't light is usually a dirty or cracked igniter, a clogged burner port, or a burner cap that isn't seated. Let it cool, wipe the igniter, clear the ports and seat the cap flat. On an electric stove, a dead zone is usually the element, its receptacle, or the switch behind the knob. If the simple checks don't fix it, it's a standard repair.
My stove igniter keeps clicking. What's wrong?
If it started after a spill or cleaning, moisture is the most common cause — leave the burners off and let it dry out completely. If the clicking continues, the usual culprit is a worn igniter switch at one knob or the spark module. Typical all-in price is $310 on standard brands, $430 on premium.
