What we fix

Common Samsung washer problems

Tell us which of these sounds like yours — the technician arrives with the right parts.

  • 4C — not filling

Samsung's "not filling" error. Closed or half-open valves, kinked inlet hoses or clogged inlet screens come first; a failed water inlet valve after that.

  • 5C — not draining

Samsung's "no drain" error. On front-loaders the debris filter behind the small bottom-front panel is the usual culprit, then the drain hose and the drain pump.

  • dC or dE — door error

The door or lid isn't detected as closed and locked. Laundry caught in the door, a worn latch, or a failed door lock assembly. On some models Samsung uses dC for an unbalanced load instead.

  • Not spinning, clothes soaking

Unbalanced load (Ub / UE), a washer that can't drain so it won't spin, or a worn motor or drive part when the drum doesn't move at all.

  • Loud banging on spin

Uneven feet, worn shock absorbers or suspension rods, or bearings on an older front-loader. A heavy bang every spin is worth catching early.

  • Leaking under the machine

Torn door gasket, a loose drain hose, the debris filter cap not fully closed, or too much regular detergent foaming out.

Read the code first

The code on the display tells us what to bring

Samsung shows a short code for most faults: 4C is water not coming in, 5C is water not going out, Ub is an unbalanced load, SUd is too much detergent — not a fault at all. Write the code and the model number from the label inside the door down before you call; it often turns a two-visit job into one.

Questions

Samsung washer repair FAQ

  • How much does Samsung washer repair cost in NYC?

Most Samsung washer repairs land between $270 and $360 with parts and labor. The diagnostic is $100, credited in full if you go ahead, and you get the final price before any work starts.

  • What does 4C mean on a Samsung washer?

4C (4E on some models) is Samsung's "not filling" error — water isn't entering the washer correctly. Check that both water valves are fully open, hot to hot and cold to cold, and that the hoses aren't kinked. Power-cycle the washer. If 4C comes back with water clearly available, the inlet valve or its screens usually need attention.

  • My Samsung washer won't spin. Is it broken?

Not necessarily. A load that's all on one side (Ub or UE), a washer that can't drain, or a laundry item jammed in the door will all stop the spin. Redistribute the load and run a Rinse + Spin. If the drum still won't turn, or it hums without moving, that's a repair — usually a drive or motor part, or the drain pump.

  • Are you a Samsung authorized service center?

No. Sprocket is an independent repair service, not authorized by or affiliated with Samsung. If your washer is still under Samsung's warranty, use their service so you keep it. Out of warranty, we repair Samsung washers with our own 90-day warranty on parts and labor.

  • Do you fix Samsung washers in small NYC laundry closets?

Yes. Stacked units, closets and machines squeezed between cabinets are most of what we see in Manhattan and Brooklyn apartments. Pulling the washer out and putting it back without scratching the floor is part of the job.

  • Is it worth repairing a Samsung washer?

Usually yes when it's a pump, valve, door lock or sensor — those are standard parts. If the drum bearings are gone on an older front-loader, we'll tell you plainly that replacement may make more sense, before you pay for anything but the diagnostic.
